CNC Machinist

The CNC Machinist is responsible for operating Horizontal and Vertical CNC Machining Centers and inspecting and documenting work for accuracy.

The CNC Machinist is expected to foster and sustain a positive working environment, keep workstations neat and organized, maintain appropriate work habits, and work well in a team environment.

The CNC Machinist is a team player who consistently seeks ways to enhance company services by supporting team members and overall company operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Measuring tool length offsets
  • Loading offsets and programs into machines
  • Creating mold plate set ups to prepare for machining
  • Running provided CNC programs; editing CNC programs
  • Inspecting work and documenting result
  • CAD/CAM software in a 3D environment
  • Completing inspection reports (Microsoft Excel)

EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Positive, professional, and highly organized team player
  • 2 years on-the-job experience in a CNC environment
  • Computer skills; Master Cam, Solid Works, and Microsoft Excel
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to pass and maintain required training

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The CNC Machinist works in a changing environment that adjusts to daily needs. Periodically, the environment may be fast paced with interruptions, distractions, and deadlines. The CNC Machinist must be flexible and able to adjust to changing needs or activities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to continually stand, walk, bend, stoop, and/or climb throughout a single shift.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must have adequate sight/hearing or use prosthetics to fulfill position requirements.
  • Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress of position.
